In 2009 Eric Archer, Dan Green, and John-Mike Reed (aka Dr. Bleep) started Handmade Music Austin with help from Church of the Friendly Ghost. The concept was based on Peter Kirn’s Handmade Music series happening in NYC in 2007.
Our workshops were held monthly for over a year mostly at Salvage Vanguard Theater. Over this time we challenged ourselves to quickly create devices that were simple, small, and fun and we came up with some pretty great gizmos.
