HSS3jb – User Guide

The HSS3jb

Power

7.5V DC positive tip only. A device like this works or you can purchase one from us. The switch in the top left corner turns on the video device.

Mode

The button in the lower right corner switches between audio+visual mode (patches S1P..) and only visual mode (patches V1P..).

Scroll

Use the small screwdriver to adjust the screw inside the brown cylinder on the right edge. This changes the scroll rate of the video.

Fade

Red, green, and blue and can be independently filtered, giving each color softer edges.

Red dip switches

Audio – These control the color of the incoming audio signal.
d10 – This turns off the colors for the angled lines of the visuals.

Audio in button

Turns the audio input on and off.

In volume

Turns down the incoming signal. A yellow light will blink when there is a signal coming in.

Bends

Five different glitches for the video.

Stable

This switches between the old (HSS3i) and new visuals. To the left the video is more lines with the right is large blocks of color with a more stroboscopic appearance.

IR

The input is under IR on the bottom edge along with the IR enable switch. The output is on the right side.

Video outputs

The device outputs analog RCA, S-video and VGA but only the RCA is guaranteed to work with any device it is plugged into. Some devices don’t like the peculiar VGA it produces.

Composite adjust

The buttons located inside the device marked < > ^ v M Z can be used to control the composite output. M is the menu, Z is zoom.
The PAL/NTSC switches are also located on the inside.

TRIGGERS

The HSS3jb’s variables can be triggered, IR from Andromeda Space Rocker devices, modular gear, and audio signals.
The potentiometer by the power jack controls trims the level of the Audio input.
See the patches for what exactly is triggered in each mode. Experiment with different signals inputs or use the HSS3jb to control your modular with it’s trigger output!
