Screw the long threaded rod into the base. Make sure it’s not pushing the batteries out, though.
Thread a nut on top and place a washer on it.


Fold the paper so the slots go together as shown (don’t sweat it if you can’t get the smallest ones together). Use a small piece of clear tape on the bottom to hold it together.


Place the paper on the rod and screw a washer and nut on top.

The device can pick up sound from a few feet away but it’s best it it’s close to the speaker.
The the “D” shaped knob on the device to adjust the sensitivity. While the music is playing, turn it all the way to the left until it starts blinking along. If you turn it to the far right it will blink and flicker on it’s own.
